About our Speaker…

Norbert J. Ore

 

Norbert Ore has extensive experience as a supply chain leader in Fortune 500 companies. He has served companies in consumer products, paper, packaging, and construction industries. His mission in each instance has been the transformation of the supply side of the business through process improvement and cost reduction.

 

While his career has been primarily focused on the manufacturing sector, he has also found time to dedicate himself to professional activities with the Institute for Supply Management, the American Arbitration Association, and most recently the China Federation of Purchasing and Logistics; with CFLP, he is currently a member of the C.P.M. certification board for China. In 1996, he was asked by the Institute for Supply Management to chair its Manufacturing Business Survey Committee, a volunteer position which gave him responsibility for compiling, writing, and releasing the ISM Report on Business®, the monthly report that is recognized as a leading indicator of the manufacturing sector and the overall economy.  As spokesperson for the Manufacturing Report, he is frequently quoted in the business press, and he has appeared many times on the national TV and radio networks. Additionally, he is a frequent speaker on the subjects of negotiation, contracts, services procurement, and strategic sourcing.

 

Currently, Norbert is Group Director of Strategic Sourcing & Procurement with Georgia-Pacific in Atlanta. Mr. Ore holds an undergraduate degree in business and a master’s in organization management.
